As I write this caption I am just finishing up a research paper for a class in my master’s program in Holistic Nutrition and am definitely feeling those “back to school” vibes. I graduated from my undergraduate program in Finance and Economics a semester early at 21 years old. So, at 29, it’s been a long time since I’ve spent this much time reading, researching, and writing. While I always liked being a student, I am finding that being back in school for something I’m really passionate about is WAY more enjoyable than being in school for what I thought was the practical choice. I find myself going the extra mile with everything not because I want a good grade, but because I actually want to learn and understand. It’s a huge shift for me!
I know going “back to school” this year is going to look very different for everyone. Some, like me, will be doing the online school thing and some will be going back to in-person learning systems that have been fully re-imagined to respect social distancing. My little sister is going to be a freshman in college this year and, although she will still be attending some classes in person, her freshman year won’t look ANYTHING like any class before hers.
No matter what your “back to school” looks like I’ve been loving this backpack/lunch box set I got from Vera Bradley on Zappos. This backpack is called the “Campus Backpack” and it has a dedicated laptop pocket as well as a ton of space and different storage pockets. Since I don’t have to physically go into school I’ve been using it as a weekend travel bag to fit all my school work and clothes for a 1-2 night overnight trip. The lunch box, called the “Lunch Bunch” has actually made the perfect toiletry bag for me. It’s lined so it’s easy to clean when my face oil leaks (because it almost always does) and it fits my skin cleaning brush, face wash, and other products perfectly. There also happens to be a bunch of fun colors to choose from on Zappos!
I know not everyone who follows me is “going back to school” but for those of you who are or have kids who are I’d love to hear what’s going to be different for you this year?
