My idea of adventure has shifted a lot in the last couple of months. Last year I found myself on an airplane for one thing or another at least once a month- sometimes more! Instead, this year, I’ve barely even left the state of Colorado. I feel really grateful to live in a place with so much beauty, but all of this has also made me realize how many amazing places closer to home I had yet to explore.
Whether my adventures are just a day trip or require an overnight in my van, I like to have gear/clothes that work well in many situations. I’m not exactly a minimalist but anyone close to me will tell you that I’m constantly downsizing my belongings back down to the essentials.
That’s one of the reasons I really like this “Y-Pack” backpack from Topo Designs that I got from Zappos. It’s super versatile- lots of pockets and storage making it great for use as a carry-on bag, but also super durable (it’s made is Cordura®) to stand up to whatever adventure I take it on. It doesn’t hurt that it also looks cool- always an added bonus! I ended up choosing the bright red color but there are a ton of different color options available on Zappos right now.
Besides one other longer trip in my van, the rest of my summer adventures planned are closer to home- half of them dedicated to enjoying some of my favorite places and the other half dedicated to exploring new places.
